Terms & Conditions
Last updated: April 2025
Contents
These Terms and Conditions govern your relationship with London School of Arts ("LSA", "we", "us", "our") and apply to all students and parents/guardians who enrol in any of our lessons or classes. By enrolling at LSA, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. General Terms
London School of Arts is an independent arts school located at 29-30 The Town, Enfield Town, EN2 6LU. We provide music lessons, ballet classes, and art classes to students of all ages.
These terms and conditions apply to all students and, where the student is under 18, to the parent or guardian who registers the student. By completing an enrolment form (online or in person), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms.
These terms are subject to change at any time. The most current version will be published on our website. Continued enrolment after any changes are made constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
2. Enrolment & Registration
Enrolment at London School of Arts is subject to availability. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and are only confirmed upon receipt of the registration form and the first term's fees (or relevant deposit).
Free trial lessons or classes are available for new students subject to availability. A trial does not guarantee a permanent place. Following a trial, continued enrolment is subject to the completion of a registration form and payment of fees.
We reserve the right to refuse or withdraw enrolment in exceptional circumstances, including but not limited to serious breaches of our Code of Conduct.
3. Fees & Payments
Fee Structure
Lesson and class fees are set at the beginning of each academic term and are published on our website and in our prospectus. Fees are reviewed annually.
Payment Terms
- Fees are invoiced on a termly basis and are due in full at the start of each term.
- We accept payment by bank transfer, cheque, or cash. Details are provided on invoices.
- Late payment may result in the suspension of lessons pending payment of outstanding fees.
Sibling Discounts
We offer a sibling discount for families with two or more children enrolled. Please contact us for details of current discount rates.
Fee Increases
We will give at least one full term's notice of any increase in fees. Continued enrolment after any fee increase takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new fee level.
4. Cancellation & Absence Policy
Student Absences
If a student is unable to attend a scheduled lesson or class, we ask that you notify us as soon as possible by telephone (020 8366 2500) or email (info@londonschoolofarts.co.uk).
Fees are not normally refunded or credited for student absences, as we pay teachers for their time regardless of attendance. In cases of extended illness (more than two consecutive weeks) supported by a medical certificate, we may at our discretion offer a credit or partial refund.
Catchup Lessons
For individual music lessons, we will endeavour to offer a catchup lesson for absences notified with at least 24 hours' notice, subject to teacher availability. Catchup lessons are offered at our discretion and cannot be guaranteed.
Teacher Absence
If a teacher is unexpectedly unavailable, we will endeavour to provide a suitable substitute. If this is not possible, the missed lesson will be credited to the following term's fees.
Withdrawal from Classes
If you wish to withdraw your child from lessons, we require one full term's written notice. Notice given part-way through a term will take effect from the end of the following complete term. Fees are due for the full notice period.
LSA Closures
LSA observes all English school holidays. We also close on Bank Holidays. Our termly schedules are published in advance. No lessons take place during scheduled holiday periods and no fees are charged for these periods.
5. Code of Conduct
We aim to provide a safe, respectful, and inspiring environment for all students, staff, and parents. We ask all members of our community to uphold the following standards:
Students
- Treat teachers, fellow students, and all school property with respect.
- Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to learn.
- Bring all required equipment and materials to lessons.
- Practise regularly between lessons as directed by their teacher.
- Refrain from bullying, harassment, or disruptive behaviour.
Parents & Guardians
- Treat all teachers, staff, and other parents with courtesy and respect.
- Ensure students arrive and are collected on time.
- Keep us informed of any relevant medical conditions, SEND requirements, or changes in circumstance.
- Raise any concerns promptly and in a constructive manner.
- Pay fees on time in accordance with these terms.
We reserve the right to suspend or withdraw the enrolment of any student whose behaviour, or that of their parent or guardian, is deemed to be seriously detrimental to the wellbeing of other students or staff.
6. Safeguarding & Child Protection
The welfare of every child in our care is our paramount concern. London School of Arts operates in accordance with current safeguarding legislation and guidance. All staff members working with children hold a current enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
We have a designated Safeguarding Lead who is responsible for implementing our safeguarding policy. A copy of our Safeguarding Policy is available on request from reception.
If you have any safeguarding concerns, please contact us immediately at info@londonschoolofarts.co.uk or telephone 020 8366 2500.
7. Photography & Media
We occasionally take photographs or videos during lessons, classes, performances, and school events for use in our promotional materials, website, and social media channels.
We will always seek explicit consent from parents and guardians before using images of their children. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us in writing.
For safeguarding reasons, parents and visitors are asked not to photograph or video students other than their own child during events without the express consent of other parents present.
8. Liability
London School of Arts takes all reasonable steps to ensure the safety and wellbeing of students on our premises. However, we cannot accept liability for loss or damage to personal property brought to the school.
Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring that students are collected promptly at the end of their lesson or class. LSA cannot accept responsibility for the supervision of students outside of their scheduled lesson or class time.
We recommend that students taking music lessons obtain adequate insurance cover for their instruments, particularly for valuable instruments.
9. Data Protection & Privacy
London School of Arts is committed to protecting the privacy of our students and families. We collect and process personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
We collect personal information including names, contact details, dates of birth, and relevant medical information for the purpose of administering enrolment, communicating with families, and fulfilling our duty of care.
We will not share your personal data with third parties except where required by law, or with service providers who assist us in running the school (e.g. payment processors), who are bound by appropriate data processing agreements.
You have the right to access, correct, or request the deletion of your personal data at any time. Please contact us at info@londonschoolofarts.co.uk to exercise these rights.
10. Changes to Terms
London School of Arts reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Where changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice to enrolled families. The current version of these terms is always available on our website at londonschoolofarts.co.uk.
